The Ilona willow armchair is the heir to the great tradition of Central European basketry. Finely woven and with generous dimensions, it was once widespread throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Some craftsmen still perpetuate this typical know-how by declining this armchair in several variants. The willow armchair "Ilona" is the simplified version of the willow armchair Lora, without colored border, but still with the openwork back. The Ilona willow chair is comfortable but light and easy to move. Ideal in the veranda or winter garden, it is also at ease in the main living room as an armchair. Its 43 cm seat height makes it very accessible to people who have difficulty standing up. Matches the Laszlo and Colette tables.

Overall dimensions: height 88 x width 74 x depth 75 cm, seat height 43 cm without cushion, armrests 65 cm. Seat depth 46 cm, seat width 50 cm. Weight 6.0 kg. Structure, nets, arches, braids and bindings: natural willow "buff" (copper tone). European manufacture. The Ilona willow armchair is sold here without, but it can be completed with a matching cushion in plain velvet.
A willow armchair cannot really be considered as a piece of garden furniture. It is not made to resist to bad weather, humidity, frost, or too long exposure to the sun. Also, the Ilona armchair is hand woven. Dimensional differences of 1 to 2 cm can be observed, there are never two exactly the same.
Care of the Ilona willow chair: dust with a damp cloth, avoid commercial cleaning products. In case of persistent stain, wash with a sponge and Marseille soap.
The Ilona willow armchair is part of the "Hungarian" family of armchairs, recognizable by their flat arms, their skirt (the part under the seat) finely braided and their more cubic shape than the Polish armchairs. The Hungarian willow chair is available in three versions: Ilona, openwork and natural, Lora, openwork but with dark brown netting, Bianka, openwork and white lacquered. Each variant of the Hungarian willow armchair of the KOK range has been given a typical Magyar name, in homage to their country of origin.
